Haystack Rock is the most recognizable landmark along the Oregon Coast and is worth a visit. During low tide, you can explore the nearby rocks for crabs, anemones, starfish and other ocean creatures.
If you want to avoid most of the summer crowds, visit during late spring/early summer or late summer (toward the end of August). If you can tough out the wind, go during the fall for spectacularly moody, cloud-draped sunsets.
